Weekend BlogLog - Aug. 22nd

We stayed in town this weekend to get some stuff done. On Friday night we headed over to Alameda Beach and Rick did some kiteboarding. He loved it. The conditions were great and he had some good runs. We then had pizza and watched a movie at home.

Saturday we got up and ran a bunch of errands. We headed to the Oakland Swap Meet which I had been wanting to go to since we moved here. I was thinking it would be similar to the Flea Market that I grew up going to in San Jose - knock off bags, glasses and jewelery. I was looking forward to a mini Canal St. I was wrong. There wasn't much there that I wanted to buy. In fact, the only thing we bought was fresh fruit.

We also went to REI and used some of our gift cards in preparation for our upcoming trip to the Lost Coast. We also did some clothes shopping. Rick bought me a new work out outfit and we got him some new work clothes. I think it is actually cheaper for us to go out of town for the weekend rather than stay in town, shop and get things done.

Yeah, we joined the gym. I quit the Bay Club when I got married, $150 a month was just too much for a gym membership when you have other things you should be spending it on. After 6 months of not working out, I had to get back to the gym. We joined the YMCA which is a block from his office. It is cheaper for the both of us to work out there then it was for me to work out at the Bay Club. We go to the gym together each morning before work and love working out together. We swim on Tuesdays and Thursdays and work out in the gym on the other days. I am teaching Rick how to row. It seems like such an easy thing to do but if you don't do it properly you won't get that full body work out that makes every inch of your body sore!

On Sunday, we met up with some married couples in the ward at the Alameda Beach for a BBQ dinner and then had a few couples over for a game of Wackie Six.
