Push Gift
Rick got me a "push gift" after Athen was born. A gift for going through all that pain to push our little guy out. My friend Ashlee has a ceramics store on etsy. She makes tons of cute things you should check it out (meadowlandpottery - her link is on my blog at the top on the right hand side). She makes these super cute necklaces. I mentioned to Rick that I thought they were so cute and wanted one for Christmas. Sure enough he got me one for my push gift. It has an A on it for Athen.

I had my post pardom visit today. The doctor told me that the many stitches that I got were not yet healed. I could have guess that since it still hurts down there. She said about another 3 weeks and I should be feeling better down there. This is definitely one part about having a baby I do not like - not just hours of pain pushing and delivering but weeks of pain afterwards.
Every one's advice to me has been take it easy until you are healed, don't start working out too soon. Well it's been six weeks now and I am definitely ready to start working out. I want to get rid of all this extra skin I have laying around. We don't have a gym near by that has babysitting and there isn't any time during the day to go with out the little man since my husband lives at work most of the time. So, I have been trying to come up with a plan to firm up this body without a gym. I was hoping to run with the girls in my ward in the early morning but they don't run early enough for me. I would need to go before Rick leaves for work which means I would need to jog at 5:00am. My next thought - running during the day with the bun. I'm not a huge fan of running but if that is my only option for getting back in shape then I'll do it.
Last night we picked up a Bob so I could start running in Alameda along the beach. They have a great running path along the whole beach. We got the Bob home and read the instructions and it says your baby should be 6-8 months old before you start jogging with him. Is this really true, all you Bob baby joggers???? I can't wait another 5 months to start working out. Help, anyone have any suggestions?
My mom came over today to watch Athen while I went to the doctor. She brought him this cute little hunting outfit. Isn't it adorable.
Last night I had YW and Rick had EQ meetings so Athen came with me. He is still sick so I bundled him up good in his little bear outfit. This is his first chance to wear something so warm and cozy and it barely fits him. He will be growing out of it soon. I hope he gets another change to look this cute!

You need to get an infant carseat adapter for the Bob. I think it works with most carseats. Then you can start using the stroller as soon as you want for running. I still use it.
I was going to suggest the same thing as JerzyGrl. My neighbors have the attachment.
Also if you want to run without the bun, I need to go early in the morning as well since J has to leave by 6:30am. I would be okay running as early as 5am if it means without the kids. I'm just hoping the weather turns for the better so we can actually get out of the house.
I forgot to mention I love the push gift. I've been checking out similar items. Have you ever heard of The Vintage Pearl? I'm going to hint to J for my Mother's Day gift.
use the infant carseat adapter like elise said and we got some sort of pillow supporty thing to stick around him to make sure his neck wasn't bouncing too much.
i started using it at week 4 or 5 with him.
you can always come visit danville and leave the little guy with us so you can jog anytime :)
What an amazing gift and good luck on your workout....going with friends is better but doing is what matters!
