Bekah was nice enough to watch Athen for us while we headed to the LA temple. Derek was Rick's old roommate and definately one of our fun funky friends. We were excited to see what there wedding was going to be like. We knew it would be something over the top and fun.
After the pictures, the wedding party headed across the street to find a parking lot full of beach cruiser bikes (I would say there was about 150 or so). While we were waiting for the happy couple to finish pictures, we decorated our bikes with streamers, ballons, flags and banners. When the couple was done with pictures they came riding up on a red tandem beach cruiser in there wedding clothes. We followed them along the streets of downtown LA for a bike brigade. Our first stop was the park where we had a catered picnic lunch. We then paraded through the park honking our bike horns and making a bunch of noise as people watched us drive through the park cheering. We then rode over to Ditty Reese which is an ice cream shop and all ordered our own ice cream sandwiches. After that we headed to the UCLA botanical gardens where the bride and groom lead us through the garden on a little walk. While we were walking they had some family members playing all kinds of instruments and singing some beautiful folky type music for the lovely couple. We then ended at a picnic area and toasted the couple. We then rode our bikes back to the parking lot at the temple.
It was a great day. It was fun to see all these adults riding around in nice clothes and bikes with streamers and balloons. People were honking for us and stopping for us as we rode through the downtown boulevards. It was a great way to celebrate there wedding.
I didn't get the best pictures because I was riding a bike most of the time but here they are. The lovely couple in their wedding clothes coming out of the temple.

Ricky rides. I think Rick's bike ended up having the most balloons. He had 8 balloons attached.

Here we are at the end of the bike brigade and at Ditty Reese with some of the parked bikes.
