2011 Recap
I keep a blog for a few reasons, 1 - family and friends can keep updated with our lives and see pictures of our cute kids, 2 - blog stalkers can keep up to date on our lives and 3 - (which is the main reason why) it is the journal of our lives. I use to be a good journal writer and have a hope chest filled with many journals that are complete from beginning to end. These days I update the blog and print it out every two years and that is our family journal. It is better that way. You can read the writing, there are date stamps on each page and you get pictures to go along with the story.
It is time for me to print the last two years of our lives but before I do I should probablly put our 2011 Bingham Family Review in there. So for those of you who have read this already just skip over and for those of you who had their Christmas cards lost in the mail and haven't read this yet feel free to keep reading.
The Bingham Family Review (IV)
2011 has been a wonderful year for our family. We went from family of 3 to family of 4 and love every second we have with these cuties.
Athen just turned 2 a few weeks ago. He loves to talk, play with trucks, watch the fire trucks drive by the window, throw temper tantrums, climb on anything and everything, ride his Ybike, and run fast. This year Athen took 6 months of swim lessons and loves to be in the water. He can hold his breath under water for 7 seconds. I wish I could say he is potty trained but we are still in the process. We have taken a few steps back in the last few days and hope to get back on track soon.
Crew is now 6 months old and is cute as can be. Although he still isn’t sleeping through the night, his precious smile and big brown eyes make up for it. He is sitting up and rolling all around the room. He loves playing with his toys and smiling at anyone who comes close by. He is super ticklish and loves to jump up and down.
Besides for having two kids, our lives continue to keep busy. Rick is still the Elders Quorum President and I just accepted my third calling as librarian. In addition to the librarian, I plan the monthly activities for the RS and coordinate seminary rides for the youth.
Rick is still at Del Monte. He is now managing the Del Monte vegetable business, which is their largest food brand. I continue to stay at home with the little ones and enjoy most of the time I get to spend with them. I have put my sewing machine, Photoshop CS5, Illustrator CS5 and Silhouette machine to great use this year with the kids.
Although we didn’t go camping this year, we did have some fun adventures. We put Athens’s new passport to use and took him on his first international trip. We spent 8 days on the beautiful island of St. Lucia. The 18-hour trip there was a little challenging but once we were there we all loved it. Since Crew has joined us we have spent some time in North Carolina visiting friends, and 10 days in Utah with family and friends. We are hoping to add another passport to the family this coming year.
As we look back on our year, we are thankful for all the many blessings 2011 has brought and most importantly we are thankful for our family and the knowledge of the Gospel in our lives. We hope your 2011 has been wonderful and wish you the best during the holiday season.
