Lately

For my birthday Rick and I went to a Cuban restaurant called Cana. We have tried the cafe but never the restaurant. It was delicious. We had:
Camarones Enchilados (sauteed prawns with sofrito-criolla sauce)
Tostones con Mojo (fried plantains with mojo sauce)
Plantanos Maduros con Crema (twice fried plantains with cinnamon crema)
Ropa Vieja (shredded organic skirt steak in a rioja-sofrito jus, smoked corn puree, beet gastrique, congri)

It was all delicious.

 Crew got his first haircut. He did so well and now he looks like a little boy instead of a ragamuffin.

 

 My dad took Athen to Home Depot on Wednesday to buy some sand to dig with.  First off, Athen loves to follow grandpa around and watch him work around the house and yard. Secondly, Athen loves to go to the hardware store (he has been asking Rick lately if he can go to the hardware store with him) and lastly he loves digging in the sand. Athen was in heaven all day. Crew on the other hand, loved eating the sand and throwing it all over the patio.


Athen loves to line up all the bikes at grandma's house. He does this all day long. He parks them, lines them up and rides each of them. I think there are 6 of them.

Today while we were walking the lake we noticed people all around staring up at the sky and watching. We kept looking up but didn't see anything. Finally, some man said "there it is, the spaceship" and sure enough the spaceship was flying right over our heads. It was a pretty cool site. They boys loved it. I didn't think about taking a picture of it until it was too late, so you can barely see it in the picture but it is just to the right of the big building.
