On Wednesday night Athen and I headed into the city to pick up Ricky. We got to see his new office which has a big window with a perfect view of the Bay bridge and ferry building. Athen and I took a walk along the Embarcaderro while we waited for Rick to finish up work.
We then headed to Venice Beach in Half Moon Bay. My friend Tim (from back in the Stanford days) and Kirsten live ON Venice Beach in HMB. We use to go there a lot when we were single to hang out and housesit for Tim while he was away. Tim took his family down south for a week so Rick and I went to housesit. Who wouldn't want to housesit on the beach. Luckily Rick took Thursday and Friday off work so we could relax and enjoy our stay. That we did!
Thursday was a beautiful day. We spent time bike riding on the beach cruisers along the beach, playing in the sand on the beach, walking to the pumpkin patch, and going to the local produce markets for fresh fruits. While we were there we went to just about all the pumpkin patches that they have including Lemos Farms. We bought lots of pumpkins, squash, and gourds. We made chocolate chip cookies and watched lots of edited movies. My dad came up on Saturday to go to the pumpkin patches with us and enjoy the World Famous Pumpkin Festival. We ate pumpkin pie, pumpkin rolls, pumpkin mac n cheese, and pumpkin ice cream. It was all delicious.

We had lots of great food while we were there. We ate at Three Amigos Taqueria (which is the best Mexican around), Durate's Tavern in Pescadero (cream of artichoke soup, pasta with cream sauce and sauteed mini artichokes and leeks, snapper fish and chips), House of San Benito (delicious sandwiches on homemade bread), Princeton's Seafood on the pier (prawns and vegetable kabobs, calamari, snapper, poached salmon and deep fried prawns). We also ate at the house a few times - hot chicken tortilla soup with cheese which was perfect for the cold evening on the beach.
We came back early Sunday morning in time for church. It was a great, festive weekend! We loved it!

Athen is SOOO adorable!
Ah... I am SO jealous of the pumpkin festival housesitting weekend at Tim's. Good thing Tim wasn't home or else he may have made you sleep outside in a tent. ;)
Oh my gosh guys! Athen is so cute !!!
Hope you're settled in your new place. Loved your announcement. So excited for you.
