Weekends

A few weekends ago we took the kids to Alameda beach to check out the kites. All the kiteboarding brands were having demo day and Rick wanted to check them out. There wasn't much wind and we went late in the day so there wasn't much for him to see.

We played on the beach with the dump trucks, sand buckets and we flew our own kite that Rick bought for the kids. They loved it.

On Saturday we took the kids to the Oakland zoo for a few hours. We played, saw the animals and had a picnic lunch. It was a fun morning. Rick then headed out to do some kiteboarding in the afternoon. I can tell it is kiteboarding season, my shower is full of sand and wet wetsuits.

Easter

We had our traditional Easter weekend with Saturday at my mom's house in Livermore and my dad's house in San Jose on Sunday. We played in the backyard, on the trampoline, riding the quad and digging in the dirt with cousins Alyssa and Blake.
 Athen riding the little quad.
Athen riding the big quad with Uncle Josh.
The kids hunting for their Easter eggs.

Crew showing off his goods. He had blue drool dripping down his face. He was in Heaven. After this one Easter egg full of candy we put the treats up. My kids get way too wired when they eat sweet things. Athen doesn't mind putting the treats up but Crew does. He has a big sweet tooth.

At my dad's house dying our Easter eggs.

The first things the boys like to do at Grandpa's is get the big dump trucks out and fill them up with rocks.

Last year Rick tried a new recipe, Jerk Chicken. It was so delicious that he decided to do it again this year. Here he is at the grill.
We had lots of yummy food for our BBQ. We usually always do a BBQ instead of the traditional Easter meal - ham, which is what we do at my mom's house.
We always have the Easter egg hunt in the front yard because of the pool in the backyard. Athen had his first accident in the cold pool on his very first Easter. We decided to let them use their dump trucks as Easter baskets. It's more fun that way.

We had a great Easter. I hope your was well too.
